During the summer of 2009 I studied abroad in Italy for a
month, during this time I was in a rocky relationship that was on its last
string, and sure enough, when I returned from Italy it ended a few weeks later.
At the time I was very hurt and upset, but didn’t know how big of a blessing it
would have been.
Later that month, a guy I recognized but didn’t know became
my friend on Facebook. I didn’t think much of it, we had mutual friends but
didn’t know each other, but then… he started to message me (who does that?!? him
apparently). Anyways, every once in a while I would message him back but I wasn’t
very interested in anything more than a friendship. But this guy was persistent!
After several “I would love to hang out, but I already have plans” he decided
to take a different approach. He asked me if I considered myself adventurous, I
told him of course I do (I couldn’t make myself look like a chicken). Well the
next date he asked me on was skydiving… yes you read that right SKYDIVING!!!
(now who does that?!? Well apparently he does…) Now I felt like a lying
chicken! Me? Adventurous? NO!!! But, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity!! He
even offered to PAY! How could I say no?! So I took about a week to gather
myself and convince myself that chances are I wouldn’t die jumping out of an
airplane with a complete stranger… and I finally told him yes!!
Just in case you were wondering and couldn’t guess, I didn’t
die skydiving!! It actually was an amazing day and after that day we continued
to hang out and eventually became my boyfriend (Facebook official of course)
In June of 2010, Eric asked me to marry him!!! I said
YES!!!!

In June of 2012, Eric and I began building our first home, and moved in Oct 1st!!!
Our love story has been such a blessing so far, throughout
these years one other thing has changed in my life. I got to know who Jesus
was, and I accepted him as my Lord and Savior! I thank God every day for the
doors he closed that I fought to keep open, for the places he put me even
though I wanted to disappear far far away, and for the man he had planned for
me, who even though I resisted didn’t give up and then became my best friend,
my husband and now the father of my child. I live such a blessed life, and I am
so thankful that God has written my love story and that I now get to live it
out!
